Looks like I've got more grease outside my ball joints than in them!
Could explain the odd cluck sound I'm hearing in the front.

Just what I need now! Truck needs to go for it's WOF this week too. Definate fail this.

You sure that's ball joints? I'm not sure how grease from ball joints would end up there. That looks more like one of your tie rod end links or possibly CV grease.

 

Kiwi, that's a lot of grease, check and make sure your cv axles boot didn't tear because look at all the splatter marks. That's how my suspension components looked when my cv boots started to pull after I did my lift. Green grease everywhere. Have fun cleaning that mess. lol Oh yea btw like tripleback stated, those are your tie rods.

 

ya, that is the CV's & you tightened your sway bar bushings too tight. Those nuts are supposed to be just "snug". That one on the passenger side is blown out already cuz of it

 

Ouch! They (sway bar bushings) were fitted by the Chevy experts!

 

They probably used a impact gun to put them on.

 

Oh, yeah that happens. You can peel the old clamps off the boots & re fasten them with large hose clamps. Works like a champ, i did it to my factories & put about 6k miles on them like that with no leaking.

Probably could have went forever like that though, i only changed the shafts because i could lol.

 

Yea & sorry about calling the tierods "ball joints" I've been suffering badly with hayfever & was not thinking staight at the time.

Although I've had this odd thump from the front end for some time (probably January/February) & does seem to be more frequent lately.

The grease must have started leaking out as a result of me lifting the torsion bars (1 1/2") I don't recall seeing any there when I had the alignment done!

 

Grease from the cv's then. The boots probably pulled enough to cause them to leak.
