I've got a 2000 blazer and I believe I have a speed sensor problem on the front brakes. At low speed almost stopped the brakes go on and off rapidly. Its been doing it a lot today and when its very cold,I've read a thread about this a wile ago on here,but can't seen to find it. I was told that I could clean them,but I'm not sure where they are located and the best way to do this. Any help would be great.

sounds like abs issue.

 

sensor in front wheel bearings, clean or replace bearings.
Or just replace bearings so you only get dirty once!

 

yeah you can try cleaning the mounting surfaces of them where they bolt into the bearing. used to see this a lot on full size chevys and fords

to get at it basically take off your wheel, caliper, and rotor. follow the abs wire to the top of the wheel bearing where its a alan head screw holding it on. where that sensor sits on the bearing it rusts over time causing the sensor to lift up giving a false reading.

the problem i always ran into is its a 50/50 shot of trying to get that wire out of there without breaking it due to the hole rusting and keeping the bottom part of that sensor in there. but if you can get it out of there you just have to sand down the surface area and re install the sensor. i usually use a die grinder as a wire wheel never seems to get the job down, cant even imagine how you would do it by hand

spray the area down with lubricant of some sort and slowly twist the sensor around to help pull it out but again doesnt always help
