How would i go about checking the coder fault let alone what would i have to replace to fix that if that be the case?

You monitor the states on the wires running between the TCCM and the encoder motor. Search for NV236 or NP236 and you should find a thread or two with a lot of information in this regard. If you did find the encoder motor to be bad, you simply unbolt it and bolt up the new encoder motor.
