Ok first off mods if this is in the wrong place feel free to move it.

Ok so next summer I want to do a sfa and maybe a v8 swap on the blazer. But I was wondering if I would be better off just doing a k5 frame swap on my 98 s10 blazer 4 door. If i go sfa I will do leafs any way and the k5 would already be v8. The biggest concern I have is my gages would I be better off to just go after market on them?
the k5 blazer wheel base is like 106.5" and the 4door blazer is 107" so that should be good.

So what do you all think?

SFA swap will be easier since there are bolt on kits. If you go K5 frame swap, be prepared to have to weld in the body mounting points as they aren't the same.

I am willing to do body mounts. I was wondering what else would be major hurdles? I do like the fact that with a sas I would not get super wide cause that is a downfall on the local trails

From what I've seen, besides making the electrical connections from the V8 stuff work with the S stuff, the body mounts are the only major obstacle. But, then again, that's a huge huge obstacle unless you're very proficient with welding too.

I am a decent welder but for something like this I know a professional welder. If i go sas I would probably go with the ORD bolt on kit then weld it up once it's all done with a d30 from a yj.
