Default CV axle on 98 Blazer

Is is hard to change this axle? Do you have to take the ball joints off?

It is not hard to do and I've only been able to get it out with the spindle removed. I've heard some had success with only removing one of the 2 ball joints, but not me.

Thanks for the reply. So you removed the ball joints? After looking at this i dont see anything wrong with the axle (theres no clunking sounds), just the boot is deteriorated and falling apart, was thinking of just replacing the boot. Whats a good cleaner for cleaning the bearings?

I'm not too sure on that, I use spray nine as a degreaser. Works preaty good and smells good lol...

but yes disconnecting the ball joints from the spindle is what is needed to pull it out.
