Default CV boot clamp

Can the inner drivers side boot clamp be replaced on the vehicle without removing the axle shaft?

Yes had to do this on my truck, used a side cutters to cut old one off and got a big hose clamp and put it on. I know you are suposed to use a special clamp have had mine on since october and have had no issues.

I have heard some guys using zip-ties ( wire ties ). I don`t know, I pulled my c-v shaft and rebooted it.

A 5" hose clamp from Lowes (a little over a dollar) worked on my drivers side when the boot came off. I went ahead and put on two new CV axles, though....although after we got the old ones out....I think that hose clamp I put on would have stayed on until doomsday. lol

If it is just the clamp then it can easily be replaced with a hose clamp like many people on here have said if its the boot as well then I would suggest replacing the whole cv axle because it is much easier than just replacing the boots and honestly it really doesnt cost that much more...

Another possible alternative to the normal metal hose clamp ( which will rust ) and the plastic zip tie is the the all new Flexi-Clamp. This clamp is made from strong DuPont Nylon 66. Some of it's features include re-usable over and over again, will never rust, non-conductive and it can tighten to 75 psi ( which is tighter than most metal clamps ). Come visit the following link for more information and to view a video:
