Default CV Noise And Replacement

Since i bought the truck last year i have been having a roaring noise so i suppose my cv are bad and or something is wrong in the center where the cv connects. I have replaced all the brake hardware , hubs and new tires. The driver side cv boots are broken, So i plan on replacing both cv . Is there anything else i need to change where both cv connects to in the center, Am not shure whats the center is called where you connect both cv, but if or how do i check if that needs grease or fluids. And does anyone have a in side diagram of the connection of the cv and center piece. Thanks

usually any lube place will check the levels in ur axles so they would be able to change it for you. i am replacing my cv axles right now and am having a difficult time on it so be prepared to be gettin into quite a project as i have noticed that it is never as easy as it seems. good luck on ur problems

As far as iv read remove all the brake hardware, disconnect the tie rod, use 36mm for the center of the spline, use air hammer with point chisel to push in the the cv out of the hub, then just pull it off from the center. Iv been wanting to do this far a while now but something else always brakes.

this is wut i did and u dont need to use an air hammer. once i got the brakes and caliper off and the tie rod end i loosened both top and bottom ball joint bolts u will need to pound on where the ball joint bolts go into the spindle it will shock it loose cuz the bolts are tapered and are compressed into the spindle so pound on the spindle and it will come loose then take the spindle off then u will have six bolst on this round plate that is ur end of ur cv axle. i put my truck in 4 wheel drive to lock the hubs then i used a breaker bar and removed the bolts and then the cv axle is gonna be connected still but u just have to shock it loose again by tappin on the plate that u remove the bolts from and then once u have ur cv axle out its just reverse order in puttin it all back to gether. the ball joint deal i just tightend the bolts to get it to compress back into place make sure u hang ur caliper up tho so u dont stretch or break ur brake line. took me bout an hour to disconect it all
