Default different SAS swap

ok.. so i picked up an 85 K5 dirt cheap. wanting to put the axles into my 97 blazer. i know the k5 is pass drop and mine is drivers drop. i figure a transfer case swap should be sufficient to correct that issue. has anyone done one of these swaps before? should i mess with swapping everything over to my truck or should i swap my body, engine, trans and wiring to the k5 frame... i am planning on building the axles before i use them (condition unknown as truck is a frame and a body shell)

the np208 off the k5 blazer will bolt right up to the 4l60 if the k5 has the 700r4. yeah the driveshaft will be on the other side only issue you will have is rigging up a shifter and modifying the crossmember for the front driveshaft

also another issue is the vehicle speed sensor is in the transfercase so when you change transfercases your abilty to automatically shift is gone. i never bothered hooking mine back up as its a off road only truck so it never sees past 1st gear anyways ive heard of using a transfercase off a early 90s 4x4 with a vss in it but never looked into it

ive been wheeling my s10 for about 8 years with 10bolt chevy axles and they have served me well with 33/14.00 boggers as tires
