Donor Interchangability

Hello and thanks for taking time to read this. I have a 1948 IH Panel Truck that came to me with a 1988 S10/Blazer 4x4 front clip spliced to the original frame, and the rear axle swapped out too. Frame code reads KC1A, PS 8-19-88. the truck has no motor, no transmission and no 4x4 drive train.

My question is, can I use a later model donor S10/Blazer 4x4, my goal is to put a GEN IV 5.3L in the Panel Truck, mated to a 4L60E with transfer case, so again, will a GEN 2 differential, and 4x4 running gear plug and play in a 1988 front frame?

Thanks again for reading this post!

Dave

id say it should. you may have driveshaft length issues, and on the 5.3 you will need a h3 hummer oil pan,and depending on if you are running a/c you will need to knotch the frame where the ac compressor will be.
