Default Don't skimp on ball joints

Man, y'all. I've read it here many times and it hit me. If any of ya have seen my posts you know last year I got my Jimmy after having been in an accident and had rebuilt it to a good running condition. Of those repairs I have replaced nearly the entire front end suspension. Shocks, bushings and all 4 ball joints. Well the past couple weeks I've been hearing an increasing loose clanking on the driver side. Well turns out my upper ball joint was giving out again. It was an Oreilleys ball joint. This time I went with Autozone and got the lifetime warranty. I mean 1 year seems a little extreme. I haven't done any crazy driving with it. And only taking it out on the beach a couple times. Nothing enough to wear that sucker out in 1 year. I thought it would last a little longer than that. With all the little things I'm still working on (I just had to replace the little rubber seal in the vacuum blower switch) i don't want to have to go back and redo any of these nasty jobs.

From what I hear the o'reilly's brand is the same as moog just different packaging. I don't know for sure but they go by the same part numbers.

I believe the exact part. I had a friend of mine who worked there and he said with the moog joints all you were accomplishing by paying the extra 40 bucks or so was buying into the moog name. From what he said they got their brand and moog in the same box from moog. But like I said I aint for sure, maybe someone will chime in.

I replaced my autozone ball joints every year also. But I was running a k5 with 38s that was used a lot.

the upper right and lower right were from Autozone also. they are doing fine. The lower left was from Advanced Auto. Also doing fine. And this side is the "good" side. (the side that wasn't involved in the accident) So it is less blemished.
