Default Frame Replacement

Not new to the forum, just don't post a lot, always find answers by searching.

So i bought back my 2000 Blazer, i knew that it needed a new rear cross member so i got it really cheap. Not only was the cross member broke the frame was also. I was gonna junk it but the mechanic that was going to do the cross member said the body and everything else is in really good condition and it would be worth putting a new frame under.

My question is who here (if anyone) has done this and about how much time does it take? I just don't want to get soaked by a shop when it takes 10 hours and they charge me for 30 or something.

Also best Blazer service manual in your opinions?

Thanks in advance!

it takes a while, maybe a day or 2 if you work hard at it. Its not easy. Look on Craigslist. Not sure what years can fit,but ive found a buncha frames for like 300 bucks. Id look for it to cost a grand minimum. If it runs and shifts good do it.

I found the rear half of a frame. If i get someone that really knows what they are doing and the knowledge on how to weld the two pieces together, will it be sturdy and last do you think?
