i would love to swap just the rear but not sure what my gears are or if the housing is the same on the zr2 rear end so i can just swap my gears in to it.

almost all zr2's are 3.73 gears. and you can get 3.73 gears for your front some regular blazers came with them. check your rpo codes in your glovebox, gu6 is 3.42 and gt4 is 3.73, so if you have 3.73's you could bolt up the rear axle and not even touch your front end

just remember zr2 axles are 4" longer than regular blazer axles (stick out 2" more than your axle on each side). They are also 8.5" instead of the non zr2 7.65" if you ever want to get something better than the g80 differential make sure you get the 8.5" size. good luck finding a zr2 axle, I've been on the hunt for a while...
