G80 in the front differential
I use to own an 88 Jimmy 4.3L auto with the push button 4x4 equipt with the G80 in the rear and i remember being in the snow and on loose gravel with it. It would spin all 4 everytime, was there a difference in diffs when the truck had the push button 4x4 in it?
No. There was never a locking front differential offering in the s-series trucks. Someone could have welded the front spider gears together I suppose, but there were never any locking differentials in the front from the factory.
here is a locker for the front. pricey & i dont know if id put it in the aluminum case.....

So for example lock right in the front would be a bad idea ? I was planning on buying Lockright to get better traction in the front.
Guessing 1996 also has alu diff ?
Would a complete diff for example a e-locker work better since its a complete diff an not just a "lunch box locker " ?
Or is the housing itself thats the problem and not the diff ?
