ok here goes i just bought a 99 jimmy sle and planned on using it for parts but with just 99k on the odometer its gunna be my daily i bought the truck knowing it was gunna need a new ring n pinion in the rear end due to a leaky rear cover seal and no one keeping an eye on things my question is can i use 3.42 gears out of an 3rd gen f-body car i.e. camaro or fire bird the gear code is gu6 so i know there 3.42s but i do wanna insure that the f-body gears will work with the jimmy's carrier and housing any info is greatly appreceiated thanks guys -Tom

 

I think it should but I'm no expert on that kinda stuff.
