Default Help!!! Right front half shaft

Can anyone give some help on installing the right half shaft? I have everything taken apart. I have reinstalled a new lower ball joint in the control arm. Now I am trying to install the half shaft. The mid-shaft is still in the axle shaft. I have got it to kind of start, but I cannot get it to go the rest of the way on to the shaft. Do I have to take the axle shaft and mid-shaft off the differential? Do I just need to hit it on the nut with something?

Thanks

DO NOT HIT IT WITH ANYTHING!! This will cause more harm than good. Lubricate the inside of hole where the halfshaft meets axle shaft and work with it until it pops on. It is cause by the lock ring its like trying to get a piston in a cylinder without compressing the piston rings. PAIN IN THE A**!

Deburring the leading edge of the CV shaft internal splines will also help compress the retaining ring on the stub shaft in the front axle. A little time with some emry cloth can make a rather dramatic difference in how easy it is to install the CV shaft.

Default update

I don't know for sure but I left it for about twenty-four hours. I went back and it just slid on. I haven't had anymore problems other than I need an aliment and new tires. Thanks
