Default Hmmm found a cheap alternative to torsion bars.

I did a 4x4 delete on mine. All i have left to do is get rid of the torsion bars so i can put in a 2wd tranny. (torsion member is in the way). I just spent the last 3 hours looking at these.

"Qa1 coilovers"

Ive been reading a bunch of other s10 forums etc. Ive still have yet to find which ones fit the 1st gen etc. I sent a email to qa1 and il see what they say when i get a response. They make springs up to 550lb which is more then enough for the 4.3 front end.

heres a link to the shocks on summit
QA1 Precision Products - Coil-Over Shocks & Struts - SummitRacing.com

The shocks range from 99 to 150ish. the coils are only 40 bucks each too. Last set of coil overs i found last year they wanted like 900.00 for the set.

If i can get both sets for less then 400 bucks im gonna be excited. No more torsion system, and annoying torsion mounts. Plus it'll shave some more weight off my soon to be v8 cruiser
