Default How To Possibly Straighten Steering Wheel

Alright when I had dropped in my new 4.3 V6 probally about 4 months ago my steering wheel had gotten shifted coutner clockwise when the steeringwheel was normally stright. Meaning when the steering wheel would be perfectly staight with the wheels straight. Now after the motor swap the wheels been turned counter clockwise about 20 degrees when the wheel is straight. The truck doesent pull or anything like the alignment is bad but its starting to get on my nerves now and I want to fix it. Any ideas anyone?

*shrug* unhook your steering linkage, spin wheel to straight, and reattach?
shot in the dark really sorry.

If you didnt disconnect any steering linkages, then the steering should`nt move. When your driving on smooth surface ( i know thats hard to do around by us) when you let go of the steering wheel does the truck drift? I would just take it in to have a wheel alignment done..

You could take the steering wheel off, straighten the wheel out and then just tighten it back up. It's really not that hard to take it off.
Taking off the steering linkages wouldn't help at all unless you mean get an alignment. lol, All the linkages have a master spline so you can't put them on at different spots. Only the steering shaft, but that would have to be 180* off.

Im getting a front end alignment today. $50 flat rate. +$11 per tire for balancing. Call a shop you trust and see who they recomend.
