Default 4 button T Case question

Hi all,

Was wondering if the output clutch on a 236 T Case was worn out (do they wear out or slip?) would four wheel drive work on a hoist ( no load)but not on the ground (vehicle weight on drivetrain). Mine, a 99 Blazer with auto 4wd will drive the front wheels on a hoist but not on the ground! Anybody ever have this problem and if so what is the fix! Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanx

I have a 136 transfer case which is similar, but without the 4lo functionality. As a testament to the durability of these drive trains, I beat the CRAP out of this car and it has 240K miles without anything beyond regular fluid changes every 50K miles and new diffs. I got the car with 120K miles and I thought the 4wd it was slipping, so I changed the fluid. I am pretty sure it had never been changed. It has been working perfectly since. Your 236 transfer case is different, but the clutch operation is probably similar. I am sure there are people on here that know more details about the differences between the 136 and 236 than I do, so maybe there is something else that could be causing your problem.
