They make conversion u-joints. I have even bought them at Auto Zone in the past. I used to have a Chevy C-10 that someone had changed the drive shaft to one from a Dodge for whatever reason. I always bring the old u-joint into the store with me for comparison. The one it called for wasn't what I had, so with a little investigation in the books, we found the right one. It had two ends for a Chevy, and two ends for a Dodge. Not sure if it would work for you, but worth checking.

Also, you could check to see if there is a driveline specialist shop in your area. I used one near me on occasion for shortening/lengthening drive shafts. They may have just what you need on the shelf, or they can make it.

first thing, use some punctuation in your post-it makes it much easier to read.

Brent is right, any auto parts store should carry the cross-over u-joint. are you sure it was a Dodge shaft in your C10 Brent? 'cause GM changed the size of their u-joints over the years.

not to say it wasn't, i'm just asking.

It's been a while... it was an '82 as I recall. It had two different cap sizes, and was most definitely not the one the book called for. I seem to remember in the book it said the other cap style was a Dodge. I could be wrong... wouldn't be the first time.
