interchangeable rear end?

Default interchangeable rear end?

i have to replace the rear end in my 96 s10 blazer and was wondering if i could put a rear end in from a 98 s10 blazer any help would be greatly appreciated

does your 96 have disc or drum brakes in the rear?

im pretty sure that 98+ al have rear disc, if you want to change out drum for disc then i would change out the master cylinder from a 98 because drum brakes require less braking force than disc. but if you dont mind doing this and the gear ratios are the same it should work out fine.
