Default K5 Lift and axle Help

Ok, so I got a near stock 87 4x4 blazer with 32" tires and want to lift it so I can offroad it. I already know Ima get Offroad Design's Swaybar disconnects. I eventually want 37"+ tires but want to build it up progressively cause I cant afford new 14 bolts yet. Im thinking of starting off with a 3" body lift and following that up with atleast a 6" lift. Will the body lift affect it negitively offroad or for that matter survive seeing that there 'plastic'? And what brand does everyone recomend for the body and suspension lifts? Anything im forgetting? (longer drive shafts, brake lines, etc?)

Thanks! This should be a great buildup! I plan on posting a bunch of pics in the buildup section...

Thats the truck, It'll atleast be one color within the next month, gonna sand it and get the body strait. My stepfathers a bodyman so Ill be painting it all black with fat red racing stripes over the hood and continuing to the back.... figured flames would be a lil too much...
