Lift kits help
So I want to put a Lift on my 96 Blazer 4dr 4wd. I dont want anything exteme I was thinking just a 2 in suspesion lift then putting some 31X10.5X15 Tires. I am thinking of going with toyo open country A/T tires. But I heard that lifts are hard on the little blazer does anyone have some tips for doing this? whats a good lift to go with? Also I am looking at replacing all my suspesion stuff and all my steering stuff as they look like they need it. where a good place to get that stuff?
you can lift the front without buyin anything. crank the tbars 1.5 inches and then get some lift shackles from ebay, advance auto, any off road truck site. anywhere from $20-$75 depending on what you get. then you will want to get an allignment after the tbars being cranked. 31's will rub a little when you are turning and going over bumps. just search shackle lift there are a million threads about how to and problems and such
I was thinking about getting a rough country 2 in susepion lift. Its $430 which is not bad...just cranking the tbars only lifts the front its a leveling kit thats it. I dont like body lifts. they look bad on a truck and it just does not seem that safe. but I know the rough country lift I have to crank the t bars but it also gives new control arms to help get the lift for the front where the rear is just different shackles.
a rough country lift is a waste. it is basicly a a shackle lift and tbar crank. I basicly have a rough country lift since I bought the shocks. but it only cost me $150. the lift keys that come with the rough country lift aren't any better than the ones that are on your blazer right now, and the control arms aren't needed. you don't even need to get longer shocks
a sway bar won't make a big difference. I don't even have a rear sway bar anymore and it handles ok on the road

anytime you raise the center of gravity the risk of rollover increases, drive smart and you got nothing to worry about. Also many people get rims with less backspacing which gives the truck a wider stance and helps to offset the center of gravity issues related to a lift but nothing will do more to avoid rollover than driving smart (don't take turns at high speeds for example)
