Default loud grinding sound

Hey gang, I have a question concerning a grinding noise i am getting from the front of the vechicle. I had my ABS light flashing, But it went out. It seems that when i make a turn the noise is even louder? I have disc brakes in the front and drums in the rear. Its a 2002 chevy blazer ZR2. 4.3 Litre. I'm thinking either rotors are bad as well as the speed sensors, Or a bearing problem. Anyone else run across this issue? Any help will be appreciated. thanks Scott

If the noise changes while turning, it could be a wheel bearing/hub assembly. The ABS sensor is part of the assembly and could be affected by a worn bearing. Usually, but not always, the bad bearing is on the opposite side of the direction you're turning. ie, turn left and noise gets louder, it's the right bearing.

Jack up the front end, grab the tire at 6:00 and 12:00 and see if it rocks in and out. Rotate it and see if you hear/feel a grinding noise. Those are clues to a bad bearing.

BTW, 1998 and newer have 4 wheel disc brakes, so your 2002 ZR2 has 4 wheel disc.
