Default Making ALL FOUR WHEELS PULL. NEED HELP!!! 98 Blazer

Hi everyone. I recently acquired a 98 Blazer LT 4.3 4x4 for off-roading, but I have gotten stuck twice now because only two of the four wheels spin when in 4 wheel drive. The truck doesn't have the G80 code for the rear diff. I need some way (preferably cheap) to make both rear and front wheels pull when off-roading. Don't drive the truck much on-road so idc if it affects gas mileage or driveability. Any help would be great.

Would need to make sure that all four wheels are engaged. Several possible issues come to mind.

Which wheels do spin?
One front and one at rear?
Or always only the rear ones?

To make sure I'd see during driving off-road which wheels spin. If you have a combination of a rear and a front and sometimes left and sometimes on the right the 4x4 would be properly engaged.
Then it really comes down to that rear differential not having a limited slip option.
Apart from that looking for a G80 or other limited slip addition for the off-roading not much you could do.

It's always one front and one rear, which I kinda expected like you said bc of having no limited slip option. If I did get some form of limited slip in the back, what could I do for the front?

There is an IFS option for locking front axle but only as a ZR-2 swap. (I didn't think the geometry of the front IFSs were different but perhaps so.) It is not cheap but here is the link. If money was not an object, I'd want to go with one of these.

Yeah, I was searching last night and saw this option but that is way out of the range of what this truck is worth lol.

You talking about welding the front diff? If so, anything specific that I need to be concerned about when doing this?

I wouldn't recommend welding the front diff. Especially with the cast aluminum housing .. It's bound to blow apart pretty quickly. You could get away with welding the rear diff for sure though. It'll skip a bit around corners and you'll chew thru tires more quickly but it would be tolerable.

I believe there used to a posi trac unit available for the front diff. Don't remember what company it was from though.

Weld the spiders together only if you NEVER want to turn corners - 1/4 mile drag racing in a straight line and it might last a few runs before blowing apart -
If your running in the deep boggy conditions as in your avatar picture shows even all four pullinisn't gonna help you much - 4 wheel in teams so you can help each other and spend your money on good digging tires and a winch.
OH and deposit you paychecks in a good savings account to pay for the damages and abuse you are putting the vehicle thu. Fun is fun abuse is expensive .....
