Default My brakes smell burnt?

Ok so I have a '97 Blazer 4x4 and when I drove over to a friends house today he noticed a burning smell coming from the front brakes. I felt it and it was hot also. I told him that I just changed the pads and rotors a month ago and that I had a couple of hard stops on the way over and he said it's nothing to worry about. Is he right?

Default Jack that sucker up

Put it up on jacks in the front. Roll the wheels and have a friend apply the brakes. Check to see if the brakes are releasing this way.
