New axle
I bought a new axle for my 97 blazer. First off let me say that I dont think my truck is a ZR2. It doesnt have it printed on the glove box sticker and I didnt see anything on the sticker on the firewall saying ZR2. I replaced a whole bunch of front end parts including the axle but when I got the axle I noticed that it was about 1 inch shorter than the old one. The outer boot looks identical but the inner boot has only 3 folds in it while the old one had 5 or 6. Do those things make any difference? This is the right front axle im talking about. I didnt think it made any difference at all but now that its in the inner boot is flattened and theres a small leak where the inner cv joint splines with the front diff(diff fluid leak). I cant get the boot to fold like its supposed to but thats the only axle they had for a 1997 blazer non ZR2. Its made by duralast. Now im afraid im going to have to take it out clean it up and bring it back with out them noticing i used it and get the right one if its not the right one. It doesnt seem right to me. And how would I know if my truck is a ZR2 besides the sticker in my glove box or firewall. I cant find where it would say tire size 31 x 10.5 or something.
well a zr2 is a 2 door blazer with fender flares. if it doesnt have the fender flares its not a zr2. well looking at the axels online there is a passenger and driverside axles that are different for the front. you might have the wrong side
I think I have the right one under that circumstance. The front left inner is externally splined and the right front inner in internally splined as I just seen online, anyone correct me if im wrong. And I have a 4 door, they only made the ZR2 in 2 door?
