Mainly shock differences, but some were heavier for towing, some heavier sway bars or simply the inclusion of the rear sway bar. There is very little information on the different packages, but if you could track down a sales brochure, it should have some of that information in it.

You can find your suspension package by decoding the RPO codes located on the label inside your glove box.

i checked my rpo codes and it said i have the premium smooth ride suspension package. is that a good one.

and i also checked some of my other codes and it says that my rear axle has a 3.42 ratio. my generator is 100 amp. my GVW is 5350. and is says i have
L35 ENGINE , "GAS, 6 CYL, 4.3L, CPI, V6, 90 DEG, HO" is that different from normal?.

CPI is wrong as it is the SCFI motor. CPI was the earlier 4.3L used until 95.

About the suspension... Don't know. That is what my old Bravada had.

well i used a rpo checker from an s10 site. i just copied and pasted. but my blazer is a 98.and i also read on Wikipedia that there was a

1996-2005 - 4.3L Vortec 4300 V6, CSFI, 195hp (130kW)/250ft·lbf (332N·m) (VIN W)

and

1996-1999 - 4.3L Vortec 4300 V6, CSFI, 170hp (134kW)/240ft·lbf (325N·m) (VIN X)

what would have been the purpose of the 2 engines? and what would have put one in a blazer. what was there application?

Only difference between the two was programming. The vin X was never offered in the Blazer.
