Default Problems with 4wd after 2.5" RC lift

Hey guys I got a problem with my 4wd. I installed a 2.5" rough country lift in the summer, and when I pulled the front dif cable, the clip on the actuator slipped and got lost (which I figured was the problem). I replaced the vacuum actuator, but still no 4wd. The light engages, and you can hear vacuum being engaged, but no activation on the front wheels. Any ideas of what could be the problem?

Just to confirm what you said, you are sure you have vacuum to the front axle actuator and no vacuum leaks elsewhere?

i checked the actuator and saw it pull in, so I’m guessing there’s vacuum, but I got it stuck in some snow and had the rear tires spinning with no movement on the fronts.

It could be that the transfer case is not engaging. Have you confirmed that it is working fine?

not sure. I can hear what sounds like an electric motor switching from underneath the car, but I’m not sure if it’s the vacuum engaging or the transfer case switching

shoudn't be able to hear anything vacuum. How about a vacuum leak in old hoses. How much vacuum to the actuator?

Agreed, you should not hear anything from the vacuum system except perhaps the acuators moving. Any sort of sound of air moving would mean there is a vacuum leak.

Be sure that the other vacuum hoses in the engine compartment are not leaking. A visual inspection is not suffucient as the will rit and get stiff, allowing leaks at the ****** connections in addition to cracks along their length.

Anothet thing to try is to manually pull on the front axle actuator cable to see if the front axle can be engaged. If it can be done manually but not with vacuum, then there is not enough vacuum and likely a leak.
