Default Rear end

i have a 1998 blazer 4x4 well i'm have problem in the rear end, i have the back of the blazer off the ground and when i turn the driver side tire it free spends about half a turn but then it spends the driver shaft but only for half turn then it stops turn again but the passage side tire turns the driver shaft for the full 360. is this normal? if not when would cause this and how to fix it?

Sounds like you have an open carrier and its normal.
