rear-end modifications

Default rear-end modifications

greetings all,,i have a 02 blazer zr2 with a 2" suspension lift,,
just purchased and 450 hp 5.7/350 engine,,,which i will b putting in this week..
so my question is,,I was told the zr2 rear-end cant handle that kinda power,,is that true,,,if so does anyone have an idea which rear-end i should put in,,,someone was saying an Dana 44 might work,,,

kinda a newbie 2 this mechanical stuff so thanks 4 ur help

the zr2 has the 8.5" ring gear. dana 44 has the 8.5" ring gear. basically the same thing.


i would think it might hold up fine depending on how wide of tires you run. ive known people to run 10 second cars using stock 10 bolt axles in camaros
