rear spring shackles

I see what you mean now. When the parts get here I plan to try 1/2'' all thread, nuts and washers to push the silent block in the frame. I also hope this will work on the bushing for the spring.

Here is what I've done so far. I used the 41/2'' grinder with a cut off blade to cut the head off of the three bolts that I couldn't budge with my impact. Turning them with my breaker bar only ruined the bushings. After the heads were cut off I used a pry bar to bend the shackles to get them off. BTW the nuts all came off without a fight.
On the drivers side I used a drill on the rubber until it was loose enough to get it out. I used a monkey wrench on the thread side of the bolt to turn the rubber out. I did this on the spring and the silent block in the frame.
The right side I used a propane torch on the spring and got it hot enough that when I turned it with the wrench it popped right out. The silent block wasn't as easy to heat up so I used a combination of heat and the drill. Again turning it out with the monkey wrench. I then used my new sawzall and a metal blade to cut the metal part of the bushings out. A little finagling with pry bars, screw driver, and a hammer was required.
The spring has a bit of rusty scale inside. I tried using a round file with little success. I don't have any air tools but I plan to head to town to see what I can get to put in my drill to clean it out.
My parts are scheduled to come late today. The plan is to put the rubber in the freezer and hope it shrinks a little then lube them up with hand sanitizer. Then use a little heat on the spring and some 1/2'' All-thread and nuts and washers to pull it all together. The silent block looks like it will be easy, it's the spring I'm worried about.
All I can do is hope this works. I didn't go with the genuine GM parts due to limited funds. I don't do any off road stuff. It's mostly a winter ride and a extra vehicle in the summer.

If you haven't found the bushings for the springs yet I may be able to help you. I Haven't sent the four RB117 (1 1/2'' OD) back yet. They were the wrong size for me. I also have two RB136 (1 3/4'' OD)I didn't use. They would only sell me a set of four.
