remove driveshaft ? 97 blazer

As u can see the cross member closes to the camera is welded on.. and the tail shaft goes right over it so no way to drop the rear of tranny...?

hmmm, maybe with the driveshaft off you can lower it enough to access the top bolts. You will need a long extension for your socket wrench. Then once the front of the tranny is off the motor you can lower the front of the trans and slide it out that way. Some times you have to just lay there and look and figure things out. LOL. Wait is it 4 wd? If so you need to take off the transfer case first. I went back and reread. 4wd it is. both driveshafts have to come off also

so disregard some of the above stuff. Remove both driveshafts, remove transfer case. Remove crossmember holding tranny and now it will lower enough to get to the top bolts

Whats wrong with removing both driveshafts and tranny mount bolts an moving tranny and engine fwd a couple inchs to acces the top bolts.

If it works , go ahead. Iv did mine once and did it the way I described. What ever is easier for you :0

Only thing left is the trans bolts and torque bolts.. and fuel lines up by the top of engine.. how the hell ya cant get a wrench on em!!!

I actually unbolted the brackets holding the lines to the trans and left them fully connected

Fuel lines also have a connection on the trans?

just 2 brackets on top. At least mine did. Unbolt the bracket from the top of the trans. much easier
