Replacing Brake Backing Plate
I have a 1998 Blazer and just ordered the rear backing plates. Does anyone know if you have to remove the axles to replace these?

You must remove the axles to replace the backing plates.

How hard is it to remover the rear axles to install backing plates and are the backing plates also called dust shields?
I have a 2002 Blazer, 4 door, 4WD, auto 6 cyl.
