Default SAS transfer case Question

Ok, I was seriously considering the Superlift 6" lift for around $2200
and have a cool looking ride. But the SAS ides hit me and the search was on, I have purchased a set of Dana 44's from a 91 Wagoneer with the driver side drop, And ordered a ORD SAS kit with all the options, The biggest Question i have is the transfer case, will a NP231 work with a 2000 jimmy with a 4L60e transmission. if so, what years are the available... Im driving a 2000 gmc jimmy 4.3l with the NP236 4 buttom transfer case. i have found endless info on the parts used ... tires, wheels, axle type, spring type, width etc.... but not much about the transfer case, any help would be great..... thanks in advance
there are a ton of folks that did this all ready, so any advice is awesome!!!

I don't know this for sure , but I think you will have to modify your cross member . I know looking at mine theres not 1 inch of room to move the drive shaft up or down . Did you already order your kit ? I'm ordering one to for the first gen , it sucks that it takes 4 to 6 weeks for shipping .

I did answer some of this in pm. it will work. obviously you have to install a the manual shifter. i dont know what bolt pattern the 236 is. if by chance the 236 is 6 bolt, when u get 231 get the adapter that bolts between transmission and transfer case, since 231 is 5 bolt. theres a couple variations in 4l60e so the adapter can be different. I didnt know there was different adapters until recently when i did v8 swap.

U do have to modify the crossmember to allow for front driveshaft clearance. If u have cash ord sells one i believe.

i have the newer 4l60e to 231c adapter laying around here. so theres a little more incentive to come look at mine at the same time...lol. If you do that, all u need to do is find the 231c, dont matter what year u pull from. If you find one in first gen, good chance, it will already have the front output yoke on it.

shifter though, i think itll be more work using a first gen. Probably definitly want that from second gen.

Get one off a bravada its just what you need , or a Chevy 1500 full size . The adapter off the bravada really drops the transfer case , the Chevy one ain't quite as bad . I have both and I don't need them I'd probably let them go for 10 bucks plus shipping . If your interested shoot me a pm and I get some pictures of them . And I decided to buy the sky manufacturing kit , they have it in stock , 4wdfactory .

ATVWARRIOR, grea choice on SKY product.... so you are saying the transmission Cross member from a Bravada or 1500 series will fit? I truly thought the Bravada T-case was very similar to the np236 just a AWD version, i guess im not to old to learn somthing new...

SKOTTI, please shoot me a PM on the area you live in, if i rember corectly
it was in PA. but i forgot the city.
Im always up for a road trip...... oh,, and lunch lol my second love...

this weekend im off to the pick n pull yard to locate a 231c, adapter and possibly a manual shifter and console, i must have the factory look..... i will also look under my vehichle and verify the adapter bolt count to the t-case and the tranny.
thanks again all, and please, if any more info comes to mind please add...

woops, t-case adapter, i read one thing and thought another. im corrected thanks. i will definatly keep that in mind on the adapter if i find a t-case off the transmission.. im planning a ride to the pick n pull lot but its raining like crazy, i may put off the search till next weekend and just put a new fuel injection assy in instead, oh almost forgot, my sons 87 wrangler does have a 231j tcase, and it drops on the drivers side.....just a side note...
