Skotti, what is the drive like with the SFA swap, and is there a reason
that the front spring has the shackle on the rear instead of the front of the spring like all jeeps, and it think any other vehicle... oh, im checking your garage page for pics, are there any more?

rides better then stock. mines a little soft in the front, i need new leafs. probably even better if you find a way to fab a sway bar. i havent gotten that far. I wish i had more pics. theres more on my and the wifes facebook. We took tons of pics when we did superlift too. barely any doing sfa. hell i just looked and i only took 6 doing v8...lol

The reason for shackle behind wheel is basically approach angle. theyll get you hung up quick. Most jeep guys eventually change that too.

ok on the approch angle, that does make scence. i suppose if there are 2"
shackles lift on the front that would make thing interesting, they will start
digging in on steep hills.. ok then Skotti, have a pic or two on the manual shifter for the t-case, and how you attached the handle to the t-case?
inquiring minds need to know...lol

I was lucky mine had 231c stock. 2nd gen is cable opertated though. So what is involved for you adding that in, cant really say. I dont think itll be bad, theres a small hole in the floor, whole shift assembly unbolts inside.

As soon as there is no snow on the ground, ill crawl under and try to snap pics. dont know if itll help though

ive actually seen it the other way around. people who put the shackles in the back have to make up for the pinion angle by hanging a big drop bracket to bolt their leaf springs to up front which makes a bigger object that hits stuff then just two little shackles.

i put mine up front just to build this thing the easiest way possible. and to improve the pinon angle. i looked into putting them in the back, not only is it more involved, like i said in the last paragraph i was gonna have to make like a 2-3 inch drop bracket which would also cause extra leverage and more of a rock anchor up front.

skotti, ok then i wont sweat it to much, i can always do the sas, and not
swap t-case until im ready right, and just not connect d-shaft to the np236 that is already there, so ill look for everything from a 97-98 blazer with a 231 t-case.

ABIG84, so by putting the shackles in the front the axle angle is better, but more prone to hitting stuff??

the only downfall i can think of for putting the shackles in the front is a rougher ride if you are going to street drive it. actually you will get a higher clearance up front because you wont have to make a drop bracket to correct the pinion angle, you will just have the two shackles hanging instead of a big bracket.

theres no wrong way to do it. you can go either way and your truck will work fine im just throwing out why i put them in the front.
