I believe you do need to entire hub, as I wanna say it is all integrated. Could be wrong though, I just know that's why the hub prices are so high, they have the ABS sensor...Don't think they offer a non-abs hub though..
And your shocks are more of an 'assist' to the suspension. The Tbars and leaf springs take most of the force, but you could get a little lift. I know when going from bad shocks to good ones, you can see some lift (only back to factory height though).
Also Jigg has air shocks that give him 1' of extra lift when inflated to 90 psi (can't recall if those are just rear, or front and rear). SO...the question is...how much lift were you wanting?

i wanted maybe 2-3 inches. i know that with a raised blazer and big wheels gas milage goes down alot. so i thought that maybe thay made after market shocks that might raise it a littel bit. btw my blazer sits strange. my right side is lower than my left what is that? .. thanks

Uneven height is most likely just shocks, though maybe also leaf springs. Bushings wouldn't hurt either.

Shocks aren't going to give you any lift, unless you go with coilovers. Shocks are just there for dampening purposes. Without them, your truck will bounce forever when you hit a bump.
I know Monroe makes a "load adjusting" shock that has a coil built into it. They usually sell for about $100 for a pair. That will give you a little lift, but now where near the 2 inches you are looking for.

The uneven height is just a sagging tbar or a blown shock. You can get under there and crank the bar to put it back to stock height (it won't risk any of the front parts since it isn't a lift). The problem this gives you though is that you probably won't get a full 2' out of your tbars like most could.
This puts ya back towards the body lift to clear the bigger tires. And don't worry about the lift+gas mileage, it's all in the tires. I saw ~2 mpg decrease when I went from 235 touring tires to 265 all-terrains. If you went with a less aggressive tread, you wouldn't see as much of a decrease

I get about 3" of lift with Monroe Air Shocks on my ZR2 :

And about 4" of lift with the Rancho Air Shocks on my 1st Gen :
