Default shocks seem weak

Ok, bought a pair of gabriel shocks for the front. I noticed that i can push the piston down with little effort. Is this seem odd to anyone?

Thanks, Shane

how new are these shocks? They may just be a weak pressured shock for smoother ride compared to other shocks. I`m putting KYB`s in my xtreme when i can get the $ for them..I just rec put monroe sensatracs in my g/f`s caravan and they were pretty stiff in pressure..

I bought the shocks a month ago, just haven't installed them yet. When i would push down on the piston end it didn't take alot of effort and thought that was odd.

Thanks, Shane

go to the website for that shock comp and see if they say what the pressure rating is on it.. for the model # of what you bought..it sounds like its gonna be a soft ride but may wear out quicker than a heavier duty shock..

They are probably not gas charged, old skool shocks. I have a pair of new gabriel coilovers in the garage that are the same way without the coil springs attached

You can try them and see if you like em, or return them and get some good trailmaster ssv shocks or better
