Hey all!

I have a '98 Blazer, 2dr, 4x4. Recently, I notice that whenever I'm turning the wheel to the left (even ever-so-slightly), it makes a terrible squeaking noise. It's rather high-pitched, and seems to be pretty consistent (doesn't drop off, and it isn't off and on). Quite frankly, it's driving me absolutely insane. Does anyone have any ideas as to what it could be?

EDIT: I should mention the noise appears to be coming from the front, left side, by the wheel..

 

Power steering pump low on fluid? How's the belt?

 

All appears to be well in this area.

 

Did you ever grease your front end ? but this squeak comes when you turn all the way left? or like while turning left

 

Sounds like dry ball joint.

Been there, ignored that warning, had car drop on its nose.

Turns out my brakes were bad on the front. Replaced them today - all is good now!

 

I had this when i put new brake pads on, once I got tired of hearing it and put new rotors on it went away. That noise will drive you bananas, glad to see you got it taken care of.

 

New pads seemed to fix the issue for me - glad it wasn't new rotors! Those clips on the pads were a PITA.

 

so you just had less brake left?

rotor+low brake+braking around cornor=noise

 

I'm a newby in this {4x4} genre but this brings up issues of bearing play and freedom of caliper to 'slide'.
