Default steering column pivot help

I have an unusual steering issue that I hope someone can shed some light on.

My steering wheel has a tiny bit of free-play or slop (1/8") from turn to turn. i have checked the tie rods, linkake, steering box, rag joint, etc... and all are in perfect condition. Following this I removed the covers from the steering column and traced the free play back to the joint in the steering column which allows the tilt steering to pivot. The issue has nothing to do with the tilt mechanism (common problem) but the with shaft/joint that transmits the turning motion of the steering wheel. This joint looks like a blue pivot (ball) which is engaged by tabs from both the steering wheel and intermediate shaft sides.

Can this joint be replaced; without changing out the entire steering column? If so, does a how-to exist anywhere on this site?

2004 chevrolet blazer, 4.3L automative 4X4

thanks,

ps: great site you've got here.

This is something I have noticed on just about all of these vehicles regardless of age. There is a bit of play in the steering.
