Will there be a difference in spring perch with on a 3/4 ton suburban and the 1/2 running gear on my k5? The reason I ask is because I know the pick-up trucks a wider but IDK about the suburban. I am about to pick-up the axles build up my k5 because I am not going to buy another weak 10 bolt. Also will the front doors line up? I plan on cutting them down into half doors.

The 3/4 ton Suburban and Pickup had the same width spring to spring as the 1/2 ton running gear. The 1 ton is where things got wider.
My 14BFF came out of a '73 3/4 ton pickup.

So I will not have to do nothing but bolt them in and use adaptor joints at the yoke or have the yokes on my shafts changed? I do plan on rebuilding them, new bearings seals and paint, seals and paint at the bare min.

the doors will work also. pretty much everything will work except for obvious stuff like the back doors on a suburban arent gonna fit on a k5. i went from k5, to suburban, then back to k5, then to pick up truck and its all the same stuff. like swartlkk said. when you get a 1 ton rear axle you just have to move the spring mounts on the axle

How well will the 3/4 ton axles hold up to 35s or 36s? I think I am going to run the army surplus tires on the 3/4 ton axles because I can get them for cheap and the wheels are 16.5s.

The 3/4 ton front axle is just a Corp-10 bolt or Dana-44 with 8-lug outers. You will want to find a 1-ton front which will bolt right in. The 3/4-ton rear is the same as the 1-ton rear with the exception of spring perch location, both being 14-bolt full floaters.
The 3/4-ton front will handle 35's so long as you aren't beating on it, but it would be much smarter to grab a 1-ton Dana-60 for the front while you are swapping axles around.

the leaf springs themselves will be different. a 3/4 ton truck has 56" leaf springs and a 1/2 ton k5 is going to have 52".
3/4 tons should hold up fine. alot of guys run 10 bolts with 35s and survive.

I will keep my eyes open for a front D-60, but I can't beat the price of the 3/4 ton stuff, FREE! I have learned the hard way that a 10 bolt is not going to hold up for me, I already busted one with the gov-lok(split the carrier right in the middle and blew parts through the center section) and repleced the whole axle assembly with one with a open carrrier. The plans for my K5 is for it to be my buget wheeler as it is to far gone to save and restore.(lots of rust and a motor/trans/t-case swap.)
