Default "Thump" sounds when accelerating...

Hey guys, Just bought a 1994 K1500 Blazer today and when I test drove the car I didn't realize any concerns that popped out. But after I purchased the car and drove home I started to notice this "thump" sound when I accelerated from a stop. I don't feel like it is tranny related because the car shifts great. And the funny things is the sound is not consistent. It happens maybe half the time. I also notice that when this thump happens, the car seems to tweak very slightly. This does not happen in reverse or once I have accelerated pass first gear. I tried looking online for any similar issues and I keep coming across a few things but I want to see if anyone has any suggestions or if this has happened to anyone else. Thanks for the input.

Sounds like one or more of the mounts (engine and/or transmission) is shot.

Went to a friend who is a mechanic and he said the sound is coming from the rear break on the right side. He said the drums are somehow misaligned or need to be adjusted. He took the wheels off on both sides, completely cleaned all the break dust off (which was a PILE of dust) and adjusted what he felt like needed. Put things back together and the problem was gone. Drove home and after awhile the sound started to come back but not as bad. He thinks maybe I need to lub things up so hopefully after that, the thump will go away.

...did you even read what Kyle posted? Take a look at your engine mounts too, as that may be the problem.

if u have a 2 piece drive shaft you may want to check the knuckle where the 2 pieces come together. my blazer was doing the same thing and that was the problem. it has to be something that is under torque if it only happens when u accelerate, otherwise it would make the noise all the time.
