Torque specs for ball joint *quick help*

What are the torque specs for a upper ball joint on a 1993 GMC jimmy s15 4wd. Need to get this replaced by tomorrow, Thanks!

17 ft. lbs. of torque for the upper ball joint bolts.
The stud nut requires 61 ft. lbs. for 1987-93 vehicles.

I am slightly surprised that the retaining bolts only require 17 pounds of torque, but thats what the book says.

What did you use to separate the ball joint?

I used a pickle fork, had to have my buddy bring one out to me since I was not at home. Nice and quiet drive now.. I seem to think the horrible roads around minneapolis had a bit of effort in this balljoint giving out. often feels like driving over train tracks not at the railroad crossing... for 20 miles

Thanks for the help btw
