Question Trans shifting cable changeover.

Hey everyone Im just wondering on the 2cnd gen blazers theres a cable that connects from the colum then runs through the floor to the trans for shifting. Is there any way this can be converted to mechanical linkage like on the chevy trucks? Also has anyone did the conversion?
thanks in advance.

Default why?

Why would you want to do this? Are these cables breaking all the time?

I don't really think it would be possible because of the relation of the transmission to the column. Check out the link in my sig for some pics of the routing of everything.

Also I forgot to ask is there not anything underneath on the steering colum you could hook the linkage to?
I`ll be underneath my truck tomorrow I`ll have take some pics of the linkage and see if I can make something to work.

My Sonoma thread has some pictures of the steering column shift assembly, not sure if it will help you at all. But like Rex said, it's really easy to replace the cable.
