Witch rear swap for 94 s10 blazer
Hi does anyone know of a stronger Chevy rear that would be a direct swap and whith for my 94 s10 blazer that would already come with disc brakes, eaton doesn't make an e locker for my factory rear witch means it's got to go by by .
Maybe Pontiac rear could work.
Had it on this forum a long time ago. I've into the same swap. I think some of the S10's cousins came with disc brakes.
Not sure it a 95 or newer rear would fit.
Then there is the ABS issue. Not too sure how that would work out.
Is it 4x4? Then you have to check axle ratios to match front axle. Else re-calibrate speedometer.
Maybe a scrap-yard search and a couple axles lying on next to the other could shed some light on the issue.

The rear axle from the ZR2 will be a decent candidate. It's the 10 bolt 8.5 or 8.6 rear end. They come with 3.73 gears though so you'd have to make sure that matches with your truck, or you'll have to swap the front diff too. You can get one from any S-Series trucks/SUVs. Most of the newer ZR2's came with disc brakes. FYI, if you do swap from drums to discs you'll have to replace your park brake cables.
