Not being a website dedicated to legal issues with lawyers on board to answer the questions, we should not go there.

If someone called that in to me I would probably write them a ticket for something as well, but I also have to see the violation take place, so really she was just being a woman.

I'm sorry, but not only are cobra detectors are notoriously horrid in my experience and exposure to them. I always called them the ricer detector. Cause they look awesome, but they don't really perform as good as they look. They make your car look fast or racer like and thats about it. My uncle has had a ton of detectors and cobra was the worst. I was riding with him and he got pulled over, after sitting there for 30 minutes, while the cop is explaining the ticket and he is signing it... BEEP BEEP BEEP, it finally goes off on the weakest level indicator. Needless to say that detector dissapeared rather quickly.

Last time I talked to him he was running a newer Beltronics model. He actually bought me a beltronics vector i940 for a birthday present back when I had the bemmer. That thing is awesome, it has picked up around cornors and over hills! And you can get it pretty much anywhere that sells them for under $150. It has picked up the little machines, you know "Speed limit 55 your speed --", and has alerted me about 1.5 miles away in a straight stretch of highway. But just thought I'd throw that out there. Maybe cobra has stepped it up lately, but from my experince, they make better cb's than radar detectors.

And thier not just for illegal racing and speeding. Mine has picked up cops that left thier radar on in thier cars that were at the scene of accidents that had the road blocked around a blind curve and I slowed cause of the detector where as without it I might have struck one of the parked vehicles. Saved me more than just tickets.

Ok now that I have a peg leg and eye patch, lets steer this pirate ship back into the original cource of sail! lol

i have a cobra detector (one of the more expensive ones) and it works pretty well, so they have stepped it up lately, i know they did used to be pretty ****ty, especially the cheaper ones. although cheap radar detectors are useless no matter what the brand.
