Wondering if anyone has taken their Blazer to the drag strip?
I was talking to the guy who owned my 97 before me, and he said that he ran a 14.7 in the 1/4 mile.
I wasnt sure if a stock Blazer will really be that fast, but I guess I will figure out Friday because I am taking it up to Cordova(our local drag strip).

Unless that truck has had some work done to it, 14.7 isn't even on the horizon. I have seen stock 1/4 mile times for '96+ 4-doors in the 17.9sec@80mph. You can probably do better with the 2-door and 5 speed, but not 3.2seconds better. Just for reference, my '01 SSEi ran 14.8sec@93mph pretty much bone stock.

The best I got was 16.89 at 80.45 in the 1/4.
Saw a 1st gen s10 with a sbc take off and snap his driveshaft, then hit the tree with the side of the truck, I talked to him after it happened and he said he also broke his crank off at the flywheel. I will post pics later because I'm to lazy to go out to my Blazer right now.

Wow that sucks. A friend of mine at work has a v8 s10 of the same vintage that he wants to get rid of. If I didn't need the room that my Bravada has, I would probably go for it. Now I really want to drop a 350 SCFI motor into my Bravada!!!
