Good thing you didn't have any kind of hood scoop. My cousins ZR2 pickup had a 2 or 4 inch cowl hood on it. He had the hood shut but not all the way, it was in the position like when you press the hood release. Was going down the road about 45-50 and it flew up and busted the windshield, the scoop was about 2 inches inside the cab. Wasn't pretty at all. Luckily we were on a backroad in a straight stretch so we pulled over quick and no accidents.

Glad you wern't hurt and you didn't get sprayed with glass. So did you get the hood pins in? BTW you should get your rig some Just for men hair color. Looks kinda awkward with the Salt and Pepper look. Or is that the rare Villalargo disease? But hey you gotta do what ya gotta do. Long as it's driving who cares. It can be fixed/painted later.

lol that happened to me in my '70 cuda with a 3" grabber hood scoop. I guess I didn't close the hood properly & took off down the highway... mother of God is that a freak when BANG the hood is up infront of the windshield!!! After I did the shuck n jive trying to look under, beside & around it & got it stopped from 70mph, started to breath again I had to check for hashbrowns in my shorts! I'm just glad the semi I was passing beside me saw what was going on & slowed down.

Good thing your GF wasn't hurt & the windshield is ok, at that speed it's a miracle because they can rip off & then you'd be liable for any damage for other vehicles

Been there done that only on a busy two lane highway at about 55/60MPH in a 1967 F100 pickup. Hood flew up shattered the windshield, about filled my pants from being blind to the traffic coming at me then the hood ripped off and landed on the side of the road behind me.
It was my stepdads old rust bucket truck, on it's last leg and the windshiels was the only thing that got hurt.
So no foul I guess, unless you checked my pants!!! to say the least.
I prefer getting my thrills at the amusement park!!

Had that happen to me, first reaction was to stick my head out the window........early in the morning-it was rolled up.
Bent the hood a little and got a matching lump on my head. Good thing nobody I knew saw it. LMAO after it was over and on the side of the road!

The hood latch on my old Cavalier failed. Hood flew up doing 70 on the highway. There were skid marks (the rubber kind, not the smelly kind) there for 2 weeks.

ha that sucks. I had this happen to me. But in my situation i left the hood open(didnt close it all the way) and forgot and didnt realize it. not even a mile later whoooomp the hood flys up. smashed the windsheild and bent both arms. i drove her home 20 mph back to the house, and a 1/10th of a mile left a cop passes and ofcourse pulls me over. *sir what are you doing?* i told em what happened, and told him im not even 500 feet from my house. He laughed and said be careful. bleh.
