Default $%@$# Idler arm

After I replaced my ball joints, I decided to move on to the idler arm. I could NOT get the arm off the center link. I tried my pickle fork, tried a hammer, tried a hammer and a punch...nothing worked. I put the splash shield back on, and called it a day.
Anyone got any suggestions?

There is a specific puller for these, You can borrow it from Autozone (yes BORROW) you just have to pay a deposit which is refunded upon it's safe return.

Is it the same as a pitman arm puller?
