Default 1998 4x4 steering box question

Hi, i was looking underneath to start replacement of the idler arm, when i noticed that the steering box looked a little funny. It's a 1998 stock 4x4 chevy blazer, could someone tell me if this is normal? There's about a quarter inch to half inch gap between the steering box and the arm that connects it to the pitman arm.

here's a pic:

what do you think, is it falling off or is it supposed to look like that?

I'm not sure if it's meant to be like that or not. If it makes you feel better, my 98 4x4 looks exactly the same..

Mine is also the same but needs replacing along with every other steering component on the drivers side.

yeah thats normal. if it was all the way down the arm would be grinding on the box. thats just as far as it can go cause the lock nut that holds it on bottoms out.
