If those wheels are the 7 inchers then the 11.50s will have a crown on the tread. I prefer at least a 4" backspacing if actually doing any off roading. Otherwise the tires will eat at the back of the fenders when turning under full articulation.

i thought those were the 16x8's.

oh well, i can go with a thinner tire. isn't the rule 4-4.5" more than the rim? thats why i chose the 11.5"s.

we'll see, there were some 15x10" rock crawlers that i like just as much for about 50 more for the set, i may go with them and a lil bigger tire.

EDIT: Combining consecutive posts. Please use the edit function if no one has replied since your last post.

btw, will i need shackles? and will it make much of a difference w/o em? i know the TB crank is for the front and helps with the rubbing but the rear shouldn't be a problem right?

I honestly don't think you can clear them if they were 31X10.5R15 Maybe but the 16" rim may put you over as far as size wise

You will be fine with 7" wide rims. There are many guys running 33x12.50 on a stock rim with no issues. Just watch your tire pressure. I also have camaro rims, and I am planning on bumping up to 32x11.50 when I get new tires. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

so i've decided on a set of 15x8 rock crawlers on 30x9.5x15 with no body lift (for now), just the TB.

i am thinking about picking up a set of Super Swamper TSL/SX 30x11.5x15 (i want a meaty, aggressive look) and am wondering if they will be too wide.

i think this is gonna be the setup i will go with for now as i'm trying to get it ready for a truck cruise with my homies on the 28th and will have about 1100 to spend on the 20th.

no time for ordering and no time to install the lift, just looking for a quick and effective answer.

thanks guys for the help. hopefully this will be the last reoccurring question i ask (i doubt it though lol)

so, 15x8 rock crawlers (4.5" bs i believe) on 30x11.50x15 super swampers.

yay or nay?

thanks.

Nay, 30x11.50 are going to like like ballons. They are going to be very round and you are definately going to have rubbing issues. 4.5 inches of backspacing mixed with 11.5 " wide tires you would have serious rubbing problems.

actually, with a 2 in bl, 1.5in tb, and 30's you will have 4.5in of overall lift in the front. with 3 in the back. add some 1.5in shackles in the back. if you get your body lift, you can fit 31x10.5's so i am told. that would give you 5in in the front and 3.5 in the back. so get you some shackles too.

It really doesn't take very much to fit 31s, and it doesn't take anything to fit 30s. You can fit 32s with slight trimming with the 2"b.l. and 1.5 tbar crank and shackles.
